A Short Tour of the Studio
It is a small building and there is not much to it, which is rather the point. Here is what is behind each door, in the order you would meet them.
The lounge
The first room, by the window. Tea, water, a low table and enough chairs that nobody has to sit next to a stranger. This is where you wait, and where most people end up sitting for a while afterwards too.
The two treatment rooms
Both are warm, quiet and lit by lamps rather than from overhead. One has the heated table that the hot stone and herbal compress treatments use; the other is set up for facials and the hands-and-feet menu. Neither has a clock on the wall, which was a deliberate decision.
The studio room
At the back, with the good floor and the tall window. Yoga, breathwork and the weekend workshops happen in here. Mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are all provided. You genuinely do not need to bring anything.
The kitchen
Where the tea is made and where the oils are blended, usually on the same morning. It is not open to guests, but if you have ever wondered where the studio smell comes from, it comes from here.
The studio is on the second floor and there is a lift from the lobby, so every room is reachable without stairs. If there is anything else you would like to know about access before you book, call us and ask. We would much rather have the conversation in advance.
