How We Blend Our Oils
The oils we work with are the same ones we sell. They are mixed in the studio kitchen in batches small enough that a jar rarely sits on the shelf for more than a few weeks.
The base
Almost everything starts from sweet almond oil, which is light, slow to absorb and forgiving to work with over a long session. For guests with nut allergies we keep a fractionated coconut base instead, and it is the default in every treatment room unless you tell us otherwise.
A little jojoba goes into the face blends because it sits well under a cream, and a little grapeseed into the sports blends because it drags less.
The scent
We keep the essential-oil load deliberately low. A treatment room that smells of one strong thing for eight hours is unpleasant for the therapist and overwhelming for the guest after the first ten minutes.
The four blends we make are lavender and sweet orange, rosemary and peppermint, geranium and bergamot, and an unscented base for anyone who would rather have none at all.
Batches and dates
Every bottle is dated on the base. Keep it out of sunlight, use it within six months of opening, and if the smell turns sharp rather than soft, it is done. That is the only test worth trusting.
If you are buying one as a gift and are not sure which, the unscented base with a separate small bottle of blend is the safe pair.
