Six Cleaning Products You Can Stop Buying

A professional cleaning kit is smaller than most household cupboards. Not because cleaners are frugal, but because eight products that overlap are slower to work with than three that do not.

You can stop buying antibacterial sprays for every room. One pH-neutral cleaner handles worktops, doors, skirting and paintwork, and a single bathroom product handles limescale. Everything else is marketing.

Wipes are the most expensive way to buy cleaning fluid, and they leave a residue that attracts dust within a day. A microfibre cloth and a spray does the same work for a fraction of the cost and does not go in the bin afterwards.

Air fresheners cover the smell of a bin that needs emptying. Deal with the bin. A clean kitchen does not need a scent added to it, and most of our customers notice the difference within a fortnight of dropping them.
