Label By Room, Not By Box

Every crate carries the room it is going back into and nothing else. Unpacking then happens in one room at a time and the house is usable each evening instead of being a corridor of half-empty boxes for a fortnight.

Dress Before You Unpack

Rugs, curtains, lighting and art first, while the floor is still clear. A room that is dressed before the boxes arrive tells you where everything belongs, and the unpacking takes half as long.
