Write more than you speak

A team spread over nine hours cannot run on meetings. The teams that work well write decisions down, in a place everyone can find them, with enough context that a colleague reading at seven in the morning does not need to ask a follow-up question and wait a day for the answer.

That habit costs about twenty minutes a day and buys back hours. It also makes onboarding trivial, because the written record is the training material nobody had to sit down and write separately.

Be visible on purpose

Remote work hides effort. Post what you shipped, not what you were busy with, and post it where the whole team reads rather than in a direct message to your manager. Overlap deliberately for an hour or two, protect that window for the conversations that genuinely need voices, and let everything else be asynchronous.
