Electric or Classic: Which Rental Suits Your Ride

Pedal assist is not cheating and it is not for everyone. Here is the honest split, based on what our riders actually keep renting.

What Assist Actually Does

The motor reads how hard you are pushing and adds a proportion of it. You still pedal, you still get the exercise you asked for, you just stop arriving somewhere in a state. On the middle setting a full charge covers about seventy kilometres in our conditions.

Pick Electric If

Your commute has a climb you dread, you arrive somewhere you need to look presentable, you are carrying weight, or you are coming back to riding after a break. Those four cover most of the people who switch and stay switched.

Pick Classic If

Your route is short or flat, you want the exercise to be the point, or you like a bike you can pick up with one hand. A good classic bike is lighter, simpler and there is nothing to charge.

The Cost Question

Both are the same daily rate here, so cost is not the deciding factor on a rental the way it is on a purchase. That is deliberate. Try the electric one for a day and find out.
