Most small labels do not fail on design. They fail on cash timing (samples paid for months before the first order clears), and the fixes are mostly boring.

Start with the unglamorous three

Cost a garment properly including returns, agree deposit terms in writing before the first production run, and keep the opening range small enough that every piece can be photographed well.

Only then look at growth. A tight range with real stock beats a broad one that is permanently out of the sizes people want.

The remaining seven are variations on the same theme: fewer promises, made later, kept fully.
