Fashion apps have a retention problem. Most are installed enthusiastically, used for a fortnight of cataloguing, and then abandoned along with the half-photographed wardrobe.

The three that survive

The ones people keep are transactional rather than aspirational: resale listings, size comparison across brands, and delivery tracking. Anything that requires ongoing manual input dies quickly.

Wardrobe planners score well on first impressions and badly on month three. The exception is those that import purchases automatically from order emails.

Judge any of them by one question: what does it ask you to do every week, and would you do that anyway?
