Folding Space into a Compact Footprint
Bent Architecture is a compact Melbourne residence that folds a whole family home onto a narrow inner-city lot. Angled walls and a pleated roofline carve out double-height living space while framing carefully placed views of the garden and sky.
Prefabricated cross laminated timber panels formed the shell, cutting the on-site program to a matter of weeks and keeping disruption to the neighbors to a minimum. Warm timber linings and generous glazing make the interior feel far larger than its modest floor area suggests.
