We ask for as little personal information as we can, we tell you why we need it, and we never sell it. This notice explains what we collect when you donate, volunteer or subscribe, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What We Collect
When you donate we collect your name, email address, contact number and the amount and frequency of your gift, together with any dedication or message you choose to add.
When you apply to volunteer we collect your name, contact details, city, preferred role, availability and whatever you tell us about your experience.
When you subscribe to the newsletter we collect your name, contact number and email address. When you write to us we keep the message so we can answer it.
Why We Collect It
We use donation details to process the gift, issue your receipt, direct the money to the cause you chose and report back on what it achieved.
We use volunteer details to match you to a role, arrange placements and meet the safeguarding obligations that apply to work with vulnerable people.
We use your email address to send the quarterly report and, if you asked for it, the newsletter. You can stop either at any time with one click.
Who Sees It
Only the staff and volunteers who need it to do their job. Our payment processor sees what it needs to take the payment, and our auditors see donation records during the annual audit.
We never sell, rent or trade your details, and we do not share them with other organizations for their own marketing.
How Long We Keep It
Donation records are kept for seven years because charity and tax law requires it. Volunteer applications are kept for two years unless you ask us to remove them sooner. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your Rights
You can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law does not require us to keep it. We answer these requests within one month and we do not charge for them.
You can withdraw consent for marketing at any time without affecting a donation you have already made.
Cookies
This site sets the cookies WordPress needs to keep the site working and to remember whether you have dismissed a notice. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
