Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Every year the children make something for the grown-ups at home, and every year the making matters more than the object. A gift a three-year-old chose, mixed and wrapped themselves is worth more than anything bought on the way home.

This spring the toddler room pressed handprints into air-dry clay and painted them the colour their grown-up likes best. The preschool room planted sunflower seeds in decorated pots, and the kindergarten room drew portraits from memory, which is a lot funnier than drawing from life.
