I started out building small business sites in a spare room in Rotterdam and never quite lost the habit of doing everything myself: the research, the type, the grid, the last stubborn media query. It is a slower way to work and it is the reason the finished thing holds together.
These days I work with a handful of clients a year, mostly founders and small teams who need a site that carries their voice rather than a template that flattens it. Every project starts with a conversation and ends with a hand-built front end I am happy to put my name on.
How I Work
01 | Listen
DISCOVERY
- A working session, not a questionnaire.
- Audience, constraints and the one thing that must land.
- A written brief you can hold me to.
02 | Draw
DESIGN
- Type, grid and colour before any pixels are polished.
- Two directions, never twelve.
- Revisions on the direction you pick, not on all of them.
03 | Build
FRONT-END BUILD
- Hand-written HTML, SASS and JavaScript.
- Accessible, fast and responsive from the first commit.
- Staging you can watch it happen on.
04 | Hand Over
LAUNCH & AFTER
- A walkthrough so your team can edit everything.
- Thirty days of fixes included.
- A component library that outlives the launch.
