Iron Vanguard and Ember Court both came through the group stage undefeated, and they could not play the game more differently.

Vanguard win by making the first move and forcing the other squad to answer it. Ember Court win by refusing to answer, holding an objective and letting the clock do the work. Over seven maps, one of those approaches has to bend.

The map veto is where the series is likely to be decided. Both squads have banned Ashfall Reach in every series this season, which leaves Kiln Yard as the probable opener and the map where Vanguard have their best record.
