A slow hour through the terraces before anything is poured. You walk the oldest blocks, put a hand in the soil that makes the difference between two wines with the same name, and finish with four glasses among the vines.
The route
Up through the old terraces above the cellar, along the ridge where the cover crops are thickest, then down into the shade of the pressing hall. It is a gentle climb spread over an hour, with somewhere to sit at both ends.
Good to know
The walk runs in every season except the fortnight of harvest, when the tractors own the rows. Wear closed shoes and bring a hat between November and March. We carry the water and the glasses.
