Kicking Off Design Party in Style

A Night Dedicated to Craft and Color

Last Friday we threw open the doors for the first Design Party of the year, and the turnout exceeded every expectation. The studio was transformed into a gallery of works in progress, with sketches pinned to the walls and prototypes passed from hand to hand well into the evening.

The idea was never to host a formal conference. We wanted a space where designers could show the messy middle of their process, the drafts they usually hide, and the happy accidents that led to their best work. Vulnerability, it turns out, makes for wonderful conversation.

Between the live demos we captured hours of footage for the video blog, so those who could not attend will still get a front row seat. Look for the highlights reel later this month, complete with interviews and a few unscripted moments we could not resist keeping in.

If there is one thing the night proved, it is that design is a team sport even when the work feels solitary. We left inspired, a little louder than when we arrived, and already planning the next one.
