It gets washed out, too hot, too often, and tumbled dry until the fibres give up. Three small changes will keep the clothes you already own looking new for a great deal longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Colder, and less often<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thirty degrees removes ordinary wear from ordinary clothes. Reserve hot washes for genuinely soiled items, and air knitwear between wears instead of washing it on a schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The dryer is the expensive part<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tumble drying is what pills knitwear, shrinks cotton and cracks prints. Drying flat costs a few hours and saves whole seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Buy less, choose well, make it last.<\/p>\n<cite>A principle worth repeating<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Store it properly<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hang structured pieces on shaped hangers and fold anything knitted.
