Two vehicles, a refrigerated case of vaccines, a clinician and a driver who knows which river crossing is passable in March. That is a mobile clinic, and it reaches people no fixed building ever will.<\/p>
Each route is planned around the villages that are furthest from a health post, then repeated on the same weekday so people can rely on it. Predictability is the whole product; a clinic that arrives at random is a clinic nobody waits for.<\/p>
Roughly a third of the caseload is injury: burns, farm wounds, falls. Another third is maternal and child health, and the rest is chronic conditions that go untreated simply because the nearest pharmacy is two days away.<\/p>
We refer anything we cannot treat, and we pay the transport, because a referral a family cannot afford to act on is not a referral.<\/p>
The program runs on the medicine budget your donations fund and on the clinicians who give us a week of their year. Both are always needed.<\/p>
