We spent two years on a membrane that does both, bonded to a knit upper rather than glued into it.<\/p><p>The difference is in the construction. There is no separate liner to wrinkle or delaminate, because the waterproof layer is part of the upper itself. That also makes the shoe machine washable, which no other waterproof trainer we know of will tolerate.<\/p><p>We make them in a factory in Portugal that we are happy to name, at a wage we are happy to publish.
